Anatomy of the human nasal cavity. Squamous mucosa (green) is located at the frontal parts of the nasal vestibules. The three turbinates (inferior, middle and superior) humidify and warm the inhaled air. The area covered predominantly with respiratory mucosa is labelled in blue.
