Initial workup

ENT examination complete; ultrasound and FNA; In adult smokers/drinkers, rule out aerodigestive tract tumor.

red flags

Hard, fixed or >3 weeks cervical mass in an adult smoker → rule out neoplasia.

Standard management

  • Study before treating — do not blindly biopsy an adult cervical mass
