Initial workup

Pulse oximetry, ECG, chest x-ray; BNP and D-dimer as suspected.

red flags

Dyspnea at rest, cyanosis, low SatO₂, chest pain or hypotension → urgency.

Standard management

  • Oxygen — yes hypoxemia
  • Bronchodilators (salbutamol) — bronchospasm
  • Diuretics (furosemide) — IC congestion
