Initial workup

Explore joint balance and cuff maneuvers; x-ray if there is trauma.

red flags

Left shoulder pain with dyspnea or sweating, or after trauma with deformity → rule out a cardiac/fracture cause.

Standard management

  • Paracetamol/NSAIDs + physiotherapy — usual management
  • Corticosteroid infiltration — selected cases
