Initial workup

Exploration with speculum, pH and fresh examination; STI screening according to risk.

red flags

Discharge with pelvic pain, fever or bleeding → rule out pelvic inflammatory disease.

Standard management

  • Metronidazole — vaginosis/trichomoniasis
  • Antifungal (clotrimazole/fluconazole) — candidiasis
