Initial workup

Dermatoscopy and ABCDE rule; biopsy or referral if suspicious for malignancy.

red flags

ABCDE rule (Asymmetry, Borders, Color, Diameter >6 mm, Evolution) or lesion that bleeds/does not heal → rule out melanoma.

Standard management

  • Referral to dermatology — assessment and, if appropriate, biopsy
