Initial workup
Duration (>1 h suggests inflammatory); CRP/ESR, rheumatoid factor and anti-CCP.
red flags
Prolonged morning stiffness with symmetrical joint swelling and elevation of reactants.
Standard management
- NSAIDs — symptomatic control
- Corticoid / FAME — yes confirmed inflammatory arthritis
