Initial workup
Auscultation, SatO₂, spirometry/peak-flow; Chest x-ray if in doubt.
red flags
Wheezing with cyanosis, inability to speak or auscultatory silence → urgency.
Standard management
- Inhaled bronchodilator (SABA) — rescue salbutamol
- Inhaled/oral corticosteroid — control or crisis
