Initial workup

Characterize (rest vs action vs postural); TSH; review medications and consumption; refer if in doubt.

red flags

Rest tremor with rigidity and bradykinesia → parkinsonism; tremor with fever and sweat → thyrotoxicosis.

Standard management

  • Depending on type — beta blocker in essential tremor; levodopa in parkinsonism
