Initial workup
Chest x-ray; review ACEIs; assess spirometry; CT/bronchoscopy if there is alarm.
red flags
Coughing up blood, weight loss or constitutional syndrome in a smoker → rule out neoplasia/TB.
Standard management
- Treat the cause — remove ACE inhibitors; try antihistamine, PPI or bronchodilator as suspected
