Mitral Valve Area by Hemipressure Time (Hatle) and Mean Gradient

Hemipressure time measures how long it takes for the transmitral gradient to fall by half: the narrower the valve, the slower the descent. The empirical constant of 220 converts that time into area.

Required inputs

The inputs this calculator asks for inside the app.
VariableExample value
Pressure half time (PHT) (ms)150
Mean transmitral gradient (mmHg)6
Pulmonary artery systolic pressure (mmHg)35

Run the calculation in the app

This page explains the score but does not run it. In Epistemis, the calculator validates units, flags values outside physiological ranges, and provides the interpretation that a number alone cannot convey.
