Bedside Hemodynamics: Mean Blood Pressure, Pulse Pressure and Shock Index
Four derivatives from taking constants that no monitor shows together. Proportional pulse pressure below 25% indicates low cardiac index in decompensated heart failure; shock index above 0.9 anticipates collapse before systolic falls.
Required inputs
| Variable | Example value |
|---|---|
| Systolic blood pressure (mmHg) | 120 |
| Diastolic blood pressure (mmHg) | 75 |
| Heart rate (bpm) | 80 |
Run the calculation in the app
This page explains the score but does not run it. In Epistemis, the calculator validates units, flags values outside physiological ranges, and provides the interpretation that a number alone cannot convey.
