Initial workup

Gait pattern, strength, sensitivity and cerebellum; image if there is focal deficit or acute onset.

red flags

Sudden difficulty walking with focal deficit, or with urinary retention and sensory level → urgency.

Standard management

  • Treat the cause and rehabilitate — fall prevention
