Initial workup
Distinguish central/peripheral/muscular; CK, ionogram, TSH; refer to neurology.
red flags
Acute focal weakness, ascending or with respiratory/swallowing involvement → neurological emergency.
Standard management
- Treat the cause — etiological
- Correct electrolytes — yes hypo/hyperkalemia
