  • Epiglottitis

Initial workup

Assess respiratory distress and SatO₂; Avoid exploring the pharynx if epiglottitis.

red flags

Stridor with drooling, toxic appearance and tripod posture → epiglottitis: do not explore, urgency.

Standard management

  • Corticosteroid (dexamethasone) — croup
  • Nebulized adrenaline — moderate-severe croup
