Initial workup

Distribution (median/ulnar); Phalen/Tinel maneuvers; electromyography if it persists.

red flags

Established hand weakness and atrophy → consider surgical decompression without delay.

Standard management

  • Night splint — mild carpal tunnel
  • Infiltration/surgery — persistent or deficit cases
