Initial workup

Exhibition history; If chronic, evaluate directed study.

red flags

Hives with lip/tongue angioedema, dyspnea or hypotension → anaphylaxis (IM adrenaline).

Standard management

  • Non-sedating H1 antihistamine — 1st line; increase dose if necessary
  • Short corticosteroid — intense outbreaks
