Initial workup

Laryngoscopy if it lasts >2-3 weeks, especially in smokers.

red flags

Dysphonia >3 weeks in a smoker, with dysphagia or lymphadenopathy → urgent laryngoscopy.

Standard management

  • Vocal rest and PPI — if reflux; treat the cause
