Initial workup
ECG, chest X-ray, D-dimer/CT angiography if PE is suspected.
red flags
Pleuritic pain with sudden dyspnea, tachycardia or hypotension → rule out PE/pneumothorax.
Standard management
- NSAID / analgesia — pain control
- Treat the cause — ATB, anticoagulation…
