  • Hepatopathy
  • TVP (unilateral)
  • Drugs

Initial workup

Distinguish uni/bilateral; kidney and liver function, albumin; ultrasound if unilateral.

red flags

Unilateral, painful edema with filling → suspicion of DVT (do not compress, anticoagulate after confirmation).

Standard management

  • Diuretics (furosemide) — edema due to volume overload
  • Compression stockings — venous insufficiency
